From La frontière française to Espierres

The junction between the Deûle and the Escaut via the little Espierre canal on the Belgian side, and Roubaix on the French side, was re-established in its entirety on 1st June 2011. At the Espierre (Spiere), the canal makes a brief incursion of 1 km into Flanders, before joining the upper Escaut.
