From Montereau to Auxerre

The main port for entry into Burgundy after leaving the Paris area, the Yonne is a beautiful and broad river that is easily navigable, in spite of its locks with inclined side walls, inconvenient but usually equipped with floating pontoons. The Yonne was where the first opening/closing dam was built in 1835.
