From Migennes to Saint-Jean-de-Losne

The most legendary of the four routes that connect the Seine to the Mediterranean. It joins the Yonne to the Saône via 189 locks. Deserted by commercial traffic (except at the ends), the canal is currently devoted to river tourism. The summit-level channel of Pouilly-en-Auxois (378 m of altitude and 3,350 m long) is spectacular. Pleasant and hilly landscape countryside on the Yonne watershed; superb wild and wooded journey to the outskirts of Dijon, on the Saône watershed.
